Fairfax Masonic Lodge #556
The Masonic Experience

Early this year I decided we needed to document the historical physical treasures of our Lodge. Thus I asked my friend Ken Smith a professional photographer to do this for the Lodge. I then thought it would be wonderful to have our senior Brethren recorded on tape as to their Masonic stories. A week before the photo shoot was scheduled we lost Brother Bob Newman. This was evidence I had to get this done sooner than later. Ken and Bill Zemanek another professional photographer and I spent 6 hours shooting and interviewing the Brethren for this oral history. Ken then spent another 50+ hours editing the 6 hours of shooting down to this 42 minute film. Personally, it warms my heart looking at his film. As I was the guy sitting in front of my Brothers, questioning them and trying to get information and stories that shows our Lodge history and growth. Knowing these Brothers very well and that we were communicating eye to eye in such a heartfelt way was fantastic.

It is hoped that this DVD will be shared for future generations and our new web site fairfaxmasoniclodge556.com will give the world a glimpse of what
we at Fairfax Masonic lodge represent.

Thank you Brethren for trusting me to be of service to Fairfax Masonic Lodge #556
